Gafieira refers to the ballrooms that were made popular in Brazil since the 30s, where big bands played and couples danced to traditional rhythms like the tango, foxtrot and the American maxixe (also known as Brazilian tango). Brian Drye on Trombone, Rob Curto on Accordion and Piano and Dennis Bulhoes on Percussion and Drums create their own micro version of Gafieira, performing the music of Pixiginha, Raul De Barros and beyond.
