The Epistrophy 5 likes to hang out inside the pop hits of the twenties and thirties, mostly. Tin Pan Alley tunes, launched in long-forgotten Broadway revues, that escaped and survived as sheet music on mail-order pianos & as touchstones & star turns for successive new waves and which after decades of being thumped and plucked and handled and mouthed are some oily chestnuts indeed. We also love the New Orleans Rep of that time as delivered by Louis Armstrong's bands chiefly as well as some Uptown Yanks anxious to capture and capitalize on that dreamy Southern feel.
